The true meaning of 360 has been lost and perverted beyond recognition. Just like what happened to Satanism. I'm sorry for being melodramatic here, but when I bought my Xbox 360 console I was very disappointed. I mean, what's the deal with putting '360' in the title if there's nothing all-encompassing about the product? Just like the Kinect sensor could not see you if you stood behind it, neither does Camera 360 touch on all aspects of photography. Sure, you can switch between front and back cameras, but still, they only have 45° each, so they only sum up to 90°. Pretty weak IMHO.
As it appears, Camera 360 - Photo Editor plays to the vanity of young East Asian teens by featuring photo enhancement contests and generally allowing them to share their selfie shots. Of course, the winner is often not the one who best utilizes the limited editing options of Camera 360, but the prettiest face. Which is not bad, after all, what best way to advertise your app than to feature pretty faces, free of charge!
The selfie camera has three main enhancement options. Dynamic stickers adapt to your face, many featuring multiple elements like whiskers and furry ears (of course). There's also a fairly competent set of beautifying tools for clearing the skin, enlarging the eyes, slimming the face and whatnot. Finally, there's a big collection of filter options.
You might also begin to wander what that 360 represents. I think I have it figured out. There's a fairly strong social-media element to Camera 360. By becoming a registered user, you can share clips and photos you've made as well as leave comments on others. You can follow and chat other users, just like you would on a regular social platform. This makes Camera 360 a bit more than a standard selfie app. That is it makes a great tool for stalkers. I may be a pessimist, but can you be really sure of strangers? Especially spooky strangers on the Internet.
But what do I know? I have to admit that the stickers are fairly well implemented and some of them look and sound nice. Yes, many stickers have sound. And I thought you should know that it overrides your device settings. So be sure you're wearing earphones or you're going to disturb the class while editing.
- Uses front and back camera
- Can create gifs
- Animated stickers
- Face enhancement tools
- Social media module (chat, posting, commenting)
Camera 360 is a rather robust selfie app. By combining the selfie-style photo editing with a basic social media framework, Camera 360 manages to gather and maintain an active user base. There's no shortage of pictures to (♥ω♥*), comment and share. The editing tools are quite neat themselves. The face editing and sticker collection are well developed and work like a charm. I'd say I recommend Camera 360 Photo Editor for any selfie enthusiast out there, especially for those who admire the East Asian phenotype.
